Why The Name
Patterson Farms?
When Tim Swann purchased Dan and Glenda Patterson's family property, they requested that the neighborhood reflect a bit of their history. One obvious way to honor that request was to name the neighborhood after them. Glenda Patterson was the principal at Candler Elementary School for years; many, many people recognize the name. The couple decided to stay on the property and Tim is building them a new home in their selected spot. The relationship is respectful and harmonious—a reflection of the integrity Tim Swann values.
About the Swann Family
Patterson Farms is the culmination of Tim Swann's dream; a dream he had to build a neighborhood focused on quality construction, providing excellent value for homeowners in a down-to-earth neighborhood. A safe place that harkens back to his childhood in the Asheville area; a place where kids could roam until dark, leave their bikes on the ground and return hours later knowing they would be there. A place where neighborhood get togethers happen spontaneously over a backyard grill.
An Asheville area native, the love of this area runs deep in his soul. He's been in the building business most of his life. He has 31 years of building professional experience, starting out in college as a carpenter's helper, and building his first spec house shortly thereafter with money loaned to him by an old family friend. He graduated from Asheville High School and attended college at UNC-A and Montreat. His favorite place is on a job site with his handy tool belt. He has a passion for quality, and he always delivers.
He has two sons in the business, Jeremiah and Nicholas; both of them with their own building businesses. They are also building homes in Patterson Farms — lovely homes; their dad taught them well. Both also have college degrees and deeply respect the land. Tim's wife Maureen is a ball of fire. A realtor with Beverly-Hanks, she is helping sell the homes and home packages. Her expertise in design and marketing is invaluable to the family.
"Tim Swann's honesty, integrity, and open communications made building our home a pleasant experience. We are proud to be living in a community of executive-style homes with a good neighbor atmosphere. At Patterson Farms the homes are beautiful and unique and the views are captivating. People go on vacation to enjoy what we wake up to every morning."
